Sky Kings Bowling Notes & Quotes

Jerry L. Koerner, the first female in OMS Blue 3, December 1976 - 1977, played on Women's Base Bowling Team, and they went to the European Championships in 1978. Jerry also worked in OMS Training 1977 - October 1980. "SSgt Janet Ballinger (76 - 80) was the master bowler. Don't know where she is but she was European Champ a couple of times."


Bowling Alley Fire and Demolition
May 2003

"I thought that you might like to know that there was a fire at the Upper Heyford Bowling Center earlier this week which damaged the roof of the building. The fire department are investigating the cause but I believe at this stage they don't think that it was intentional."

"I live in what was the old base houseing on Portal Drive North. I thought you may like to know that the old bowling alley was knocked down this week and signs erected where the old huts are, warning of "Asbestos"."
