Submitted by Rollie Stewart III, 20th Transportation Squadron, 1992 - 1994.
The Static Display plane was moved from RAF Upper Heyford to RAF Croughton late 1993, early 1994.

"With the collapse of the Soviet Union the presence of the 20th was deemed no longer necessary in England.  The 20th Fighter Wing inactivated at RAF Upper Heyford on 1 January 1994 and reactivated at Shaw AFB, South Carolina on the same day, along with the fighter squadrons.  At that time, RAF Upper Heyford came under the 620th Air Base Wing, until 30 September 1994 when the base will be [was] returned to the Ministry of Defense." - excerpt from "History of the 20th Fighter Wing and RAF Upper Heyford."
